About Our Instructors

Elias Ayrey, PhD, Chief Science Officer and Co-Founder at Renoster, is a remote sensing specialist with expertise in satellite imagery, LiDAR, and AI. Known for his engaging YouTube channel that simplifies complex carbon topics, Elias combines academic rigor with practical industry insights, holding a PhD and MS in Forest Resources from the University of Maine. Mateus Mendes, Forest Carbon Scientist at Renoster, specializes in geospatial data and machine learning to analyze forest dynamics. With previous experience at Sylvera and Delta Blue Carbon, he brings a data-driven approach to showcasing forest ecosystem value. Sam Israelit, Chief Sustainability Officer at Bain & Company, oversees the firm’s carbon net-negative strategy, leading investments in nature- and tech-based carbon removal and managing ESG reporting. With over 24 years at Bain, he also advises clients across retail, manufacturing, and tech on transforming operations to improve cost, service, and resiliency. Adrian Wons, CEO at Senken, leverages blockchain to bring transparency and efficiency to carbon markets. With a background in wind energy and sustainable finance, he previously led EY Germany’s blockchain team and co-founded a sustainability research institute. Racheal Notto, Head of Carbon Markets at Kita, focuses on de-risking carbon projects through robust data analysis. Formerly at South Pole, she brings expertise in carbon portfolio management, legal frameworks, and digital monitoring, and serves on Verra’s Program Advisory Group. Anton Root, Co-Founder & Head of Research at AlliedOffsets, leads data transparency efforts in the voluntary carbon market. With a background in economics and impact investing, he oversees tools like AIDER and TRACEcdr to support informed carbon market decisions.
